Building a better UTMB
Beginning at 8 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 21, all patients and visitors to the UHC parking garage will be able to use the two new modernized elevators and lobby. Additional improvements will be performed after this date such as replacing interim lobby lighting and seating. These additional improvements will have minimal user impact.
Additionally, the temporary walkway that currently protects patients and visitors is scheduled to be removed during the weekend of October 22-23.
Beginning Oct.17- Oct. 28, the east intersection of Market Street and 12th Street will be closed for culvert repairs. Barricades and signage will be in place to direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
Beginning Oct.17 - Nov. 4, University Blvd. (6th Street) north of the Plaza Garage will experience alternate lane closures to allow for the installation of underground steam piping under the street near Haborside Drive. There will be barricades and signs in place to allow for one lane of traffic in each direction at all times. The pedestrian crosswalk at Harborside will remain open at all times, and access into the parking lot of the dormitories along 6th Street will be open at all times.
