Every 17 seconds, someone is diagnosed with diabetes — a disease that kills more Americans each year than breast cancer and AIDS combined. Nearly 26 million Americans are living with diabetes and another 79 million are at high risk for developing Type 2 diabetes.

“Molecular imaging agents: The can, the can’t and the won’t” was the topic of Michael Tweedle, professor in cancer imaging at Ohio State University.

• Labros Sidossis, of the Sealy Center on Aging, presented a lecture on metabolism.
