Replacement of damaged culverts will require the closure of 14th Street between Market and Mechanic streets until Nov 25. The closure will affect pedestrian and motor traffic.

“This will impact many people coming to the UTMB campus as well as those who use 14th from Broadway to Harborside,” said Kim McKay, assistant vice president in Business Operations and Facilities. She said fences and signs will be in place to re-route traffic to 13th Street.

The street is scheduled to be closed through Wednesday, Nov. 23. Delays in the vicinity are expected for the duration of the work. UTMB and its contractors have coordinated the work with the City of Galveston.
