The UTMB School of Medicine held their Scholarship and Award Ceremony for scholarship donors, representatives and student recipients. Dr. Lauree Thomas,  associate dean for student affairs and admissions in the School of Medicine, began the program and introduced UTMB President Dr. David L. Callender, who gave the welcome talk during lunch.  Rachel Lombardo, a student from the class of 2013, shared her personal story about her decision to become a doctor and how scholarships made her dream possible. A beautiful musical interlude was conducted by medical students Don Bywater, class of 2014  and Aisha Parker, class of 2013, on piano and violin.
