For the past 15 years, UTMB and Galveston's Ball High School have partnered to give select junior and senior students a unique way to learn about science by working with UTMB mentors in their labs on current research projects. When the Galveston National Laboratory opened, so did the opportunity for students to work with pathogens requiring the maximum containment levels available. Funded by UTMB's Sealy Center for Environmental Health & Medicine, NIEHS Center in Environmental Toxicology as well as the Dr. Leon Bromberg Charitable Trust.
