Liz Gonzalez is a post-baccalaureate student at the University of Houston and previously earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Texas A&M University. Her research interests include rare disease therapeutics for both neurological and non-neurological disorders. Through coursework in biochemistry, genetics, and organic chemistry, she developed a strong foundation in experimental design, biological analysis, and laboratory techniques including pipetting, gel electrophoresis, and basic data analysis. These experiences strengthened her critical thinking skills and ability to communicate scientific findings through written reports and presentations.
During her time at Texas A&M University, Liz was involved in the Latino Medical Student Association for Undergraduates and HOSA, organizations dedicated to supporting medically underserved communities. Outside of academics and research, she enjoys spending time with her chihuahua, Canela, and binge-watching series on Netflix.
