Mongolian spot

Mongolian spot (dermal melanosis) refers to a macular blue-gray pigmentation usually on the sacral area of normal infants. It is often due to melanin deposition in the dermis. It is present at birth and typically disappears spontaneously within four years. This condition is most common among Asian and Mediterranean infants.
