Our Mission: UTMB Correctional Managed Care utilizes its vast academic medical center resources to collaborate with its correctional colleagues to ensure that quality health care is provided to incarcerated offenders in a timely and cost effective manner.

Because of the cost-containment measures adopted by UTMB-CMC, annual increases in total and per capita healthcare spending for the TDCJ population have remained relatively low compared with correctional healthcare spending in most other states.
