Resident Supervision
The policy of the Department of Surgery is that all clinical activity is supervised, directly and indirectly, by an attending surgeon on service who assumes responsibility of all patient care. Residents at each level are provided increasing amounts of responsibility on clinical service and in the operating room dependent on their competence, all of which is constantly supervised and monitored by the attending surgeon.
