The Center for Tropical Diseases (CTD) at UTMB brings together dedicated researchers, educators, and healthcare professionals committed to reducing the global burden of tropical diseases through research, education, and service. Focused on conditions that disproportionately affect tropical and resource‑limited regions, CTD advances scientific discovery, builds research capacity, fosters interdisciplinary and global partnerships, and translates knowledge into meaningful health solutions. Center for Tropical Diseases Membership

The Center for Tropical Diseases offers open membership by request, recommendation, or by invitation.

Scientists who are actively engaged in studies related to tropical diseases at other institutions may be nominated for CTD membership by a current CTD member. UTMB faculty and researchers who have demonstrated research interests related to tropical and infectious diseases may establish membership in the CTD upon application.
