UTMB ETox Training Program

Quick Facts

  • Toxicology training at UTMB is provided by Faculty from seven graduate programs and five clinical departments.
  • These faculty and their trainees are investigating toxicological problems at the molecular, systems biology, and public health level.
  • Outstanding facilities for research (Resources) are available in core facilities supported by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) and The Sealy Endowment for Biomedical Recourses. Specifically, there are cores for proteomics, genomics, pathophysiology, confocal microscopy and gene expression.
  • Funding to support stipends, tuition, and travel as well as academic enrichment are available through our NIEHS ENVIRONMENTAL TOXICOLOGY TRAINING GRANT at UTMB.
  • Students who are interested in graduate studies in toxicology apply for admission through the Basic Biomedical Sciences Curriculum. They spend their first year in interdisciplinary course work and laboratory rotations, then join a graduate program where they can conduct research with one of the toxicology training faculty.
