General Accounting is responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information, guidance, and service related to planning, budgeting, management of cash & appropriations, and account transactions to the customers we serve. General Accounting is also responsible for recording, reporting, maintaining, and managing financial related items for the functions below.

Internal Service Requests & Charges
There is a process within PeopleSoft that allows for services to be requested from departments (providers) who have been set up with Service Center IDs and those providers can then issue charges to the requestors. The journal entry for the transaction is automatically generated via this process. Though this process was originally set up for true service centers, other departments now utilize the process as well.
