Dr.
Larisa Landry joined the Provost's Office in August 2026. As a Program Manager,
she supports the Office of Global Operations by overseeing UTMB Global Student
Experiences. Her primary responsibility is managing outbound student mobility
for university-sponsored and approved experiential learning opportunities. Larisa
believes that thoroughly preparing students before they go abroad, while
maintaining strong support systems during their time overseas, is essential to
making international experiences safe, meaningful, and successful.
Before
joining the Provost's Office, Larisa spent more than a decade in international
education across public and private institutions, including UNESCO, the
Institute of International Education, the University of Texas System and the
University of Houston-Clear Lake.
For
the past five years, Larisa has managed faculty-led education abroad programs
at the University of Houston-Clear Lake and collaborated with partner
institutions in Brazil, England, France, Italy, and other countries.
Larisa
holds a doctorate in International Relations from the Diplomatic Academy in
Moscow and a Master of Science degree in International Economics. She is
honored to be a 2026 Fulbright recipient, reflecting her ongoing commitment to
global education and cross-cultural engagement.
When
she is not advancing global learning opportunities for students and faculty,
Larisa enjoys refining her French language skills, swimming, attending the
opera, working in a ceramic’s studio, and watching independent films.
