What is less widely known is that UTMB is also an institutional member of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health, a leading global network of universities and organizations committed to advancing global health.

This membership is maintained and coordinated through the Office of the Provost – Global Operations.

Committees and Working Groups

CUGH offers numerous opportunities for engagement through a diverse network of committees, subcommittees, and working groups that bring together faculty, staff, students, researchers, clinicians, and administrators from institutions around the world. These groups collaborate to advance global health education, research, operations, workforce development, advocacy, policy, and emerging areas of practice. 

Opportunities are available across several categories, including:

• Programmatic Committees focused on advancing global health education, research, operations, advocacy, and workforce development.
• Operational Committees that support the governance, membership, awards, finance, and strategic operations of the organization.
• Education Subcommittees dedicated to specialized topics such as academic partnerships, educational resources, global health competencies, degree programs, and trainee engagement.
• Working Groups that address emerging and interdisciplinary topics including artificial intelligence, equitable clinical education, geriatrics, oral health, humanities, environmental health, and global health education
