Welcome to Graduate Medical Education

The University of Texas Medical Branch has been educating physicians since 1892. UTMB has trained more physicians than any other medical school in Texas. We have a historic and ongoing commitment to Medical Education and the care of underserved populations.

We believe that the best graduate medical education occurs when you have the correct combination of three main elements: committed faculty, modern and efficient facilities, and a diverse patient population. We strive to deliver education in a patient centered environment that demands professionalism from all health care providers. In addition to GME, UTMB has a medical and nursing school, a graduate school, and school of allied health. These multiple groups of learners help to strengthen our overall educational environment.
