Faculty Temporary License (FTL)

Policy 05.05.08

The Texas Medical Board rules for Faculty Temporary License allow the applicant to renew indefinitely.  UTMB’s original interest in developing a Faculty Temporary License was to assist in faculty recruitment by providing a permit that could be obtained in a shorter period than a permanent Texas License.  This would also substitute for the requirement of 2 years of graduate medical education for permanent licensure. 

Texas Medical Board requires 45 days prior to your hire date/expiration date to receive your application packet.
