BSL4 Scientists at the GNL Make Extraordinary National/International Impacts

A recent review of the work of UTMB faculty working within the highest containment laboratories at the Galveston National Lab has shown the national and international impact of their work.

In an analysis conducted in June 2018, data showed that scientists working at Biosafety Level 4 at the Galveston National Lab have collaborated with scientists in 43 states around the country and 65 countries around the world.  Their research has involved 352 external institutions,700 external individuals, it has resulted in over 2,500 publications, and it has been integral to more than 300 patents.
