Open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, the UTMB Health Resource Center is a calm, welcoming space where patients, guests and caregivers are invited to:

  • Learn about helpful hospital resources, patient services, community resources and support groups
  • Access information about specific health conditions and treatment options
  • Learn how to participate in decision making about the patient’s care plan Learn how to promote patient safety

Please allow us to help you locate these types of resources:

  • Help setting up and accessing a MyChart account
  • Location of resources in your county
  • Location of support groups in your town/county
  • Referral to local classes and social services groups
  • Procedure or disease-specific information and literature
  • Printing and access to research materials
  • Notary services
  • Assistance with applying for programs such as SNAP, SSI/SSDI, Extra Help, etc.
  • Education materials for common diagnoses as well as educational resources for the management of chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and chronic respiratory illnesses
  • Tools to promote effective communication with the patient care team
  • Nutrition recommendations for disease-specific diets
