Leadership Moment with Stephen Jones

Over the past few months, it’s been wonderful to be part of ongoing discussions with individuals from all four of our campuses, our physician leaders and service line leaders across UTMB.

The common theme continues to be the excitement regarding UTMB Health’s future.

In recent years, UTMB Heatlh has been very successful in growing clinical programs by building work teams that transcend a singular area but truly engage individuals across the enterprise with a focused purpose.

Work teams such as trauma, neuroscience, women’s health, digestive health, cardiovascular medicine and transplant have created a vision for growth capitalizing on the voice and talents of every employee.

The recent reorganization under Dr. Jochen Reiser will allow us to continue our journey together as one clinical enterprise across all areas capitalizing on those talents.

More than ever, all our voices, ideas, talents and energy will come together for one purpose, which is providing world-class medical care to our patients.

Since the fall, we have seen operational leaders and service line leaders align initiatives like never before.

In addition, we have more enterprise-wide collaboration between Galveston and mainland operational leaders. This improved alignment across the health system enhances our ability to grow patient volume, advance service expectations and improve quality performance.
