Sydney Caperton is a passionate Lean and Process Improvement Coordinator on the System Optimization and Performance team at UTMB. Sydney works to create, implement, and monitor standard work within the department. She facilitates departmental meetings, supports training modules and improvement events, and monitors event survey feedback. Sydney has a background in healthcare quality improvement and large-scale data analysis. Sydney’s passion for standard work and consistency helps her to facilitate effective trainings, meetings, and events within the System Optimization department and across the UTMB Health System as a whole.
Prior to UTMB, Sydney worked at Medical Center Health System in Odessa, Texas as a Quality Analyst. She has a bachelor's degree in biology from Texas Lutheran University and a Master of Healthcare Administration from Texas State University. During her time at Texas State University, Sydney was certified as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. She has since earned her Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
Fun fact: Sydney has traveled the world including 19 countries and 25+ cruises.
