A message for UTMB Health staff from Chaplain Tammy Isaac
“All negativity is caused by an accumulation of psychological time and denial of the present. Unease, anxiety, tension, stress, worry—all forms of fear—are caused by too much future and not enough presence. Guilt, regret, resentment, grievances, sadness, bitterness and all forms of non-forgiveness are caused by too much past and not enough presence.”—Eckhart Tolle
“I woke in the middle of the night thinking about all my past failures, mistakes, rejections, disappointments and losses. Then God, as gracious and kind as he is, reminded me that all my past failures, mistakes, rejections, disappointments and losses are what have brought me to where and who I am today. I had to go through a lot of painful, regretful and sad situations. Would I want to do it again? No! But I’m grateful he kept me. I owe him (God) my life.
“I encourage you today not to dwell on all your past failures, mistakes, rejections, disappointments and losses. Neither allow people to keep you stuck there. In the words of Eckart Tolle, ‘Realize deeply that the present moment is all you have. Make the now the primary focus of your life.’”
