The Trauma Level IV redesignation survey visit was a great success. This was my third since starting my role overseeing ADC, and I believe it was also the best. We gained great knowledge to keep improving and received such great kudos to our team as a whole. The surveyor was very complimentary to our team, the campus and the system as a whole.
- The surveyor complimented our trauma program manager, Stephanie Hurt, on her organization and preparation. This was her first survey, and she rocked it. Her binders and prep materials were so well done that the surveyor suggested mirroring them across the system for the next survey.
- Dr. Phillip Singer was also complimented as one of the most engaged trauma medical directors she has witnessed. He stayed the entire time and showed such commitment. We are so thankful for his leadership in our trauma program.
- Jason Garner, the ED manager, and our new ED educator, Sara Hayes, were complimented as well. The surveyor noted the high acuity of the types of traumas they see as a team and was impressed with the positive outcomes we have for a small campus.
Overall, this was a great visit, with so much engagement and support across our campus and from the Trauma Service Line. It was a proud moment for ADC and UTMB as a whole!
