UTMB celebrated National Ambulatory Care Nurses Week (Feb. 7-13) with awards in recognition of the exemplary work done by our ambulatory nurses.
"Nurses in the ambulatory setting participate in all aspects of the patient’s care as advocates and educators. They provide technical skills and coordinate care across the continuum of care," said Moey (Maureen) Davis, nursing program manager, Ambulatory Operations. "Ambulatory nurses connect with their patients in the clinical setting. They are the smiling faces during their office visits and are the voice that connect them to their health care providers when they have a need.
"It's important to recognize the unique role that ambulatory nurses play in health care, providing the right care at the right time, without hospitalization," Davis added. "Our ambulatory nurses connect with the communities in which they live and work, providing care across the lifespan to individuals, families and populations in primary, specialty and non-acute outpatient settings."
Ambulatory nurses were celebrated Feb. 7 across all clinic locations by their teams.
