Two members of the University of Texas Medical Branch's Department of Pathology were recently elected to the 2025 class of fellows with the American Academy of Microbiology.
Drs. Alexander Bukreyev and Jere McBride, UTMB professors in the Department of Pathology, are two of 65 Academy fellows for 2025.
“It's truly an honor to be elected as a Fellow of the Academy,” said Bukreyev. “I've dedicated my career to the study of emerging viral infections and subsequent development of vaccine and antibody treatments against the illnesses caused by these viruses, so I am looking forward to expanding these lines of research while establishing new collaborations.”
