When did you start working at UTMB?

I started working at UTMB in 1998 at a scale that left room to broaden my horizons knowing that there was more knowledge to come. I started off as a lab tech assistant I and worked my way up as a lab tech assistant II and still maintain that position with great joy.

What attracted you to UTMB in the first place?

At the time, I was looking for employment that would allow me to participate in helping others in any capacity.

Why have you stayed at UTMB for more than 25 years?

It's a great place to work. What keeps me here is being surrounded by those who are like family that assist and encourage me each day.

What would you say to someone starting out in a career at UTMB?

I would welcome them aboard and let them know that UTMB is a great place to work.

Any special stories or experiences about your time at UTMB you would like to share?

I remember there was a layoff and the thought of not knowing how I would be able to provide for my family if I were a part of that layoff at that time. But today I am grateful to say that I'm still a part of the UTMB family.

What does the concept of Best Care mean to you and how do you participate in providing Best Care?

Giving my best at my daily duties as a lab assistant and giving my all to see that my role is making a difference in what we are all doing here at UTMB.

Please share anything else you would like your UTMB Health family to know about you or your time here.

I would like to let my UTMB family know that working here has not only been a great job for me but also a great experience.
