"Nursing leadership during COVID-19: Enhancing patient, family and workforce experience," an article co-authored by Dr. Jerry Mansfield, was selected as Most Impactful Article in the 2025 Patient Experience Journal Awards.
The Patient Experience Journal is an international, peer-reviewed journal.
"Particularly in a time when families and significant others weren't allowed in most health systems, we had to maintain or exceed patient experience goals during a very difficult time. We learned a lot," said Mansfield, who was associate dean of Leadership & Clinical Practice at the Mount Caarmel College of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio, at the time the article was published. "Post COVID, we, as nurse leaders, hoped to share lessons learned through this manuscript."
