After a successful run that spanned five decades, the final Impact was published in January 2020.  Impact was UTMB Health’s employee newsletter. It evolved from a one color printed tabloid newspaper to a full color magazine with a digital component. We’ve archived the past several years on these pages for your review and enjoyment.

UTMB’s Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences celebrated its 50th anniversary during Homecoming festivities in October. The school’s mission, in part, is to advance human understanding and knowledge in health-related disciplines and grant advanced degrees in biomedical sciences.

What is the estimated number of degrees awarded by the GSBS since its inception in 1969? (Hint: Answer is inside this issue.)

Answer to the October/November trivia question: Interprofessional Education is the approach that’s the focus of the new Health Education Center, which opened in 2019 on UTMB’s Galveston Campus.

Congratulations to Cathy Davis, nurse clinician III at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice’s Hightower Unit in Dayton.
