Are you a runner? Do you want to improve your running form and maximize the efficiency of your movements? The University of Texas Medical Branch offers a $100 consultation with a sports and orthopedic certified physical therapists who will analyze your running form. You will be videotaped running on a treadmill and a physical therapist, using computer software, will identify movements that may be impeding efficiency or could lead to overuse injuries. Free neuro rehab clinic

Free occupational therapy is being offered for people who have had a stroke, have traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis or any other neurological condition. Stout-Aguilar in Texas nursing association

Nursing clinical educator, Jacqueline Stout-Aguilar, recently was inducted as the Texas Nursing Association’s District 9, south region, representative on their board of directors and a delegate to the group’s house of delegates. TNA is a statewide, professional association of registered nurses and is the oldest professional nursing organization in Texas.

Free tours of labor and delivery hospital units

The labor and delivery unit in John Sealy Hospital on the Galveston campus is conducting tours of its newly-refurbished birthing suites at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on the first and third Sundays of the month. The 30-minute tours give expectant parents an opportunity to see the spacious birthing suites and mother/baby rooms that offer a family-centered birth experience.
