Galveston County Daily News (Internet / Print) 05/16/06 The state House and Senate have passed a measure that would put up funds for major new facilities at the University of Texas Medical Branch and at Texas A&M University’s Galveston campus. The House on Monday concurred with a Senate measure that would provide $57 million for the Galveston National Laboratory at the medical branch. It would provide $40 million for a new science building at A&M, Rep. Craig Eiland, D-Galveston, said. The bill still must be signed by Gov. Rick Perry before it becomes law.
