Ask any 4- or 5-year-old and you will see that I am not alone in that feeling. The problem is, while there are other ways to get medications into our bodies, the needle is still often required. The other side of the coin is that there are also times when the needle must be used to get blood out of us so a variety of sophisticated tests can be performed.
