History

The OPRC Program (originally named OPRU, Obstetric-Fetal Pharmacology Research Units) was first funded by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development in 2004. The timeline below shows the history of the program.

History

  • OPRU Network launched

    Sites funded:
     •  Georgetown University
     •  University of Pittsburgh
     •  University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston
     •  University of Washington
  • Data Coordination and Analysis Center (DCAC) selected

    Site funded:
     •  Research Triangle Institute (RTI)
  • Recompetition of OPRU Clinical Sites

    Sites funded were:
     •  University of Pittsburgh
     •  University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston
     •  University of Washington
     •  Indiana University School of Medicine
  • OPRU becomes OPRC

    Recompetition of clinical centers within a newly structured Program called Obstetric-Fetal Pharmacology Centers (OPRC). New program includes a Logistic Coordinating Core (LCC) in lieu of a DCAC.

    Centers funded were:
     •  University of Pittsburgh
     •  University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston
     •  Northwestern University
