Established through a transformative gift from the Sealy & Smith Foundation, the Institute integrates cutting-edge programs in interventional cardiology, heart failure and transplantation, advanced imaging, and rehabilitation to improve outcomes for patients across the region and beyond.
Formed alongside the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, the Institute enhances UTMB’s capacity to lead nationally in cardiovascular science and physician training. Together, they form a dynamic partnership advancing discovery, academic excellence, and high-impact clinical care.
