Dear Members of the UTMB Community,
With two weeks left in the State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC), I’m grateful to report that we are close to $300,000 in pledges, raised by more than 1,300 generous employees.
However, the holidays are almost here, which means the coming weeks will be a blur. The campaign closes at midnight on Friday, Nov. 30, which leaves us just a handful of workdays to reach our $500,000 goal.
Superheroes are our theme this year. While in the real world we may not be able to fly, leap buildings or become invisible, we do each have superpowers: the power to help others, to share, to exercise kindness and do good. I can’t think of anything more worthy of our awe and admiration than these abilities, which are facilitated so perfectly by the SECC.
Next week many of us will be gathering with friends and family to reflect upon and share our blessings. This year, I will be thinking of the many who are counting on us—for food and shelter, assistance in a crisis or emergency, advocacy, support for the vulnerable, a helping hand during difficult times, warmth, caring and love.
I hope you will consider SECC as a way to share your good fortune. Remember every dollar we raise matters, every gift is appreciated, and where your dollars go is your choice.
Please, explore this site to learn more, see our progress, make your pledge and see this year’s thank you gift.
With heartfelt thanks and best wishes for a happy and healthy Thanksgiving,
