Doing Good Things: SECC 2019

Oct 24, 2019, 08:48 AM by Eduardo Valdes

Dr. Vicente Resto, SECC Chair 2019I am honored to serve as the chair of UTMB’s 2019 State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC). I understand this is an important responsibility.  The bar is high every year and the needs in our communities are great. Our goal is to raise $500,000 to put to work doing good things.

We’re all busy. We have demands on our lives, on our time, on our wallets and pocketbooks. But take a minute to look around.  We are so very fortunate, so blessed and so able to make life a little easier for those in need. As you know, the SECC makes it easy for us to help.

As you review this website, you will quickly see that as in the past, donations can be directed to the causes we care for most—more than 300 local, statewide, national and international charitable organizations are available and would welcome your support. Contributions may be made online or via paper. Payroll deduction is an easy and effective option.

We have a crowd-pleasing “thank you” token for those who support this year’s effort, a new social media presence, a little friendly competition, and we’re already off to a great start—with $52,000 pledged by dedicated early donors. Visit the links to learn more.

The SECC is not about us. The SECC is our chance each year to work together to do good things for others. Let’s make this an outstanding campaign for those who are counting on us!

I thank you in advance for your consideration and support.
