We’re midway through the State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC). We're racing the clock to raise half a million dollars to support important causes and charitable efforts in the communities where we live and work.
We're making steady progress, but we're not there yet, so I need your help. By Friday morning, Nov. 8, you’d helped us raise more than $308,000 in contributions, pledged by 1,220 generous members of the UTMB community. We're very thankful for the support.
As a physician leader at UTMB, I am frequently out in the community and I see the needs firsthand.
Most of us are exceptionally fortunate. We live in comfortable homes, have good jobs and have rarely gone without food.
For many people, these things are daily struggles.
Our support of the campaign can help.
We all have our own interests that vary from supporting animals or the environment, to helping support disaster relief or disease research. I ask that you support whatever is important to you. With more than three hundred partner organizations engaged in this drive, I am confident you will be successful in finding at least one that is personally meaningful.
