Time to Play Ball!

I'm getting a little sense of "deja vu." Let me take you back to 2017. Our big disaster that year was Hurricane Harvey. If you weren't directly impacted by the obscene amount of rain that fell and the historic flooding it caused, you had close family, friends or neighbors who had been. It was a mess, and many people were desperate for help and some good news. The Houston Astros provided some first, when they brought home a World Series championship that gave a  serious lift to many dampened spirits. And we had two charitable campaigns that year: one to help employees in need which raised almost $200,000, and the SECC, which pumped more than $500,000 of support from UTMB staff into our recovering communities.

Events like the ones that year remind us that we are all in this together, that everyone benefits from a little help and support, and that it feels good to come out on top.

So while we didn't have another potential World Series Championship in mind when we came up with this year's theme, there is a precedent. Anything is Possible
