Family Therapists and Counselors at Family Medicine Clinics

Patients at our Family Medicine clinics in Dickinson, Galveston Island East and Galveston Island West can speak to their primary care provider about seeing one of our family therapists, licensed social workers or counselors.

This team provides assistance for the following needs:

  • Anxiety disorders
  • Behaviors that contribute to chronic health conditions such as asthma, diabetes, or high blood pressure

  • Family counseling
  • Sleep problems
  • Stress-related physical symptoms
  • Traumatic events, stressful life situations or crises, loss or grief

Women's Behavioral and Mental Health Services

With a focus on women’s health, we provide individual therapy for:

  • Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Infertility
  • Pregnancy loss
  • Stress management
  • Relationship issues/intimacy issues
  • Career issues
  • Sleep problems
  • Coping with health issues, and menopause.

If you would like to speak with someone about any of these issues, please speak with your Ob/Gyn provider about a referral to see a specialist.

You will work collaboratively with your specialist to determine a treatment plan. Your treatment may include the following evidence-based therapies: cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and motivational interviewing. The number and frequency of sessions will be determined based on individual needs.
