Welcome to the Home page of the Center for Tropical Diseases at the University of
Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, a World Health Organization Collaborating Center.
Our mission is to alleviate suffering caused by tropical infectious diseases through
the application of basic, applied and field research. The education programs at the
center contribute towards enhancing the scientific infrastructure of tropical
infectious diseases research as well as aiding others to understand the importance
and control of these diseases.
Our diagnostic and reference laboratory services provide an important resource for
the diagnosis and management of infectious diseases
