After months of planning and preparation, on Saturday, Aug. 16, Angleton Danbury Medical Center officially became UTMB Health Angleton Danbury Campus. ADMC has been serving the Brazoria county for more than forty years. The new relationship between UTMB and ADMC will build upon ADMC’s history of service.
The Angleton Danbury Hospital District was established in 1967 with the goal of providing a general hospital to serve Brazoria County residents. In 1969 that goal was realized with the opening of Angleton Danbury General Hospital. In 1999 the hospital changed its name to Angleton Danbury Medical Center to reflect the hospital’s future plans for growth.
Over the years ADMC grew with the opening of a state-of-the-art surgical and cardiac care unit, a 3,400 square foot health and wellness center and with the completion of a $22 million expansion and renovation project in 2006.
The goal of the UTMB Health and ADMC relationship is to strengthen both organizations in preparation to succeed in an accountable care environment while providing patients access to the best care close to their homes.
“The level of health care services available to Angleton and southern Brazoria County will be enhanced; and Angleton Danbury Medical Center’s promise to our community — which embraces the concept of ‘Friends and Neighbors Caring for Friends and Neighbors’ — remains intact as we move forward with UTMB,” said Dave Bleakney, CEO of Angleton Danbury Medical Center.

A celebratory open house event will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 26 in the UTMB Health Angleton Danbury Campus lobby from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The campus is located at 132 E.
