The UTMB URPS program aims to train the next generation of physician-scientists in the diagnosis, medical, and surgical treatment of pelvic floor disorders so that
they can serve as national and international leaders in the field of URPS. Our program
shares the same mission statement as our sponsoring institution "To apply our
interdisciplinary expertise toward improving health and function and reducing health
inequities in the communities we serve". Our URPS program will provide the best quality
care to our large, diverse community.
Program Vision/Aims Statement
We aim to educate and inspire skilled physicians to serve as leaders in the field of URPS.

preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures for women with complex pelvic
floor disorders, including but not limited to urinary incontinence, lower urinary

- Collaborate with and lead cooperative, interprofessional, and interdisciplinary
educational and clinical teams to advance clinical acumen and improve patient
outcomes.
- Develop expertise and contribute to the growing body of literature on pelvic floor
disorders.
