Human Milk and
Human Milk Substitutes (Formula)

Human Milk is the preferred source of nutrition for infants, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and Canadian Pediatric Society (CPS).   Ideally human milk is the sole source of nutrition for at least 4, and preferably 6, months of life.  The infant formula companies which develop and market human milk substitutes constantly strive to develop preparations which are increasingly similar to human milk.
