"Resuscitation Research Laboratory
Department of
Anesthesiology, UTMB"
The mission of the Resuscitation Research Laboratory (RRL) is to discover, develop and test fluids and medical devices for treating shock and trauma.
Our specific goals are to provide improved resuscitation therapies for the initial care of circulatory shock resulting from hemorrhage, trauma, burns, and cardiac arrest.
Toward these goals, the RRL is pursuing the development of closed-loop resuscitation systems, small-volume resuscitation formulations, intraosseous devices, novel blood substitutes,
and smart monitoring technology for prehospital and combat casualty care.
