Supply Chain: Institutional Value Analysis and Data Analytics

Supply Chain

The Institutional Value Analysis and Supply Chain Data Analytics team is responsible for Institutional Value Analysis Program at UTMB as well as providing various Supply Chain data and analysis reports to the institution.

The Institutional Value Analysis Program is a collaboration of Business, Research, Academic, Facilities and Supply Chain expertise to achieve yearly savings goals for the institution, reduce non-labor expenses, improve organizational performance by utilizing data to identify savings and standardization opportunities, implement improvements, measure outcomes, and monitor results. We provide detailed analysis of historical spend data that will identify savings opportunities and improve contract compliance, as well as help to drive significant improvements in UTMB's bottom line. Spend analysis is the starting point of our strategic sourcing program, and lays the foundation for spend visibility, control and contract compliance.

We also support the Clinical Value Analysis Program, Purchasing and Materials Management teams as well as the HealthSystem and Clinics to provide supply chain data in varying formats. These data reports include, but are not limited to, potential cost savings by department or spend category, benchmarking information from other Academic Medical Centers, vendor market share, spend data, and product utilization.
