Brain Health Institute: Call for Applications

Applications are now being accepted for the Collaborative Pilot Grant Program of the UTMB Brain Health Institute. The BHI Collaborative Pilot Grant Program aims to provide support for collaborative research initiatives within and between departments and schools. The primary focus is on conducting research projects that test new hypotheses or gather preliminary results, with the ultimate goal of preparing competitive multi-PI applications (such as P01, multi-PI R01, U, etc.) for submission to NIH or other federal funding agencies.

  • This grant program exclusively targets collaborative efforts spanning all five schools at UTMB, and individual PI applications will not be eligible.
  • The program is open to diverse projects within the broad field of neuroscience, including basic, clinical, and translational research.
  • Encouragement is given for interdisciplinary applications that incorporate at least one neuroscience component.
  • Selected projects will receive funding for a duration of approximately 12 months (from 9/01/2024 to 08/31/2025), with a cap on total annual direct costs set at $75,000.
  • Visit the BHI website for detailed information on the BHI Application Process and Forms.
