AHA/UTMB Annual SymposiumDepartment of Cardiovascular Medicine

The American Heart Association and the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine and Sealy Heart & Vascular Institute at The University of Texas Medical Branch are partnering to host the second annual Cardiovascular Symposium on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at the San Luis Resort, Spa & Conference Center! The CME/CNE-accredited event will be from 8:00am to 5:00pm, with an award reception to follow.

The one-day symposium is open to physicians, physician assistants, nurses, advanced practice providers, residents, and fellows, and will provide updates on clinical practice guidelines for non-cardiovascular specialists (including primary care providers, internists, hospitalists, geriatricians, ER providers, and advanced practice providers).

Attendees will be able to strengthen their professional skillset while learning from expert UTMB cardiologists, and may obtain CME or CNE credits. The schedule of talks for the day, which will include topics such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, heart failure, and valvular heart disease, will be provided soon.

Registration for the event is now open at the AHA’s website! Information on registration fees is provided below.

Guests may make their reservations by calling San Luis Reservations Department directly (409) 744-1500 (toll free). To obtain their special rate, guests must identify themselves as being with the AHA Room Block and place a reservation by Friday, May 8, 2026.
