We are pleased to announce the upcoming 11th International Filovirus Symposium, taking place from 13-16 September 2026 at the Emory Conference Center just across the street from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, GA, USA.
This year’s gathering is especially meaningful, as it marks 50th years since the discovery of Ebola virus in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This occasion provides an opportunity to reflect on how far the field has come over the last five decades.
The International Filovirus Symposium has always been more than a scientific meeting. It is a community built on collaboration, shared purpose, and a commitment to understanding and counteracting some of the world’s most consequential viral threats. Bringing together colleagues from different disciplines and across continents, this symposium provides an opportunity not only to exchange the latest scientific results, but also to reconnect with old friends, welcome new voices, and inspire the next generation of researchers and public health leaders.
We are delighted to host you in Atlanta, a city with strong ties to public health, infectious disease research, and global health collaboration. We invite you to
register and submit an abstract or
participate as an attendee. For more information, please contact Sherry Schueller (
