Now more than 300 members strong, the President's Cabinet has provided over $6 million in seed grants to more than 180 developing programs in our community since 1993.

President's Cabinet Membership

Your gift to the President's Cabinet will help provide indispensable seed grants for programs to deliver compassionate care, encourage novel biomedical research, and prepare future leaders for the health professions.

Six projects addressing critical health and community needs have been selected to receive The University of Texas Medical Branch President's Cabinet Award. The winning projects are represented by seven UTMB staff and students.

This year, the projects include, enhancing pediatric surgical experiences and expanding access to forensic and trafficking victim services to promoting STEM education, disability-inclusive healthcare, and recovery support for emerging adults, these initiatives demonstrate UTMB’s commitment to transforming lives through patient care, education, research, and innovation.

The President's Cabinet was established in 1993 to provide discretionary funding for emerging priorities and create opportunities for UTMB and the community to work together in support of promising initiatives. Members include faculty, staff, community and civic leaders, and alumni whose generosity has helped fund more than 200+ community-focused programs through seed grants.

UTMB Employees

UTMB employees may make their President's Cabinet gift through payroll deduction. Payroll deductions will be withheld equally from 12 pay periods annually. Contributions will be withheld from the second check in the pay period for employees paid on a bi-weekly schedule.
