A Message from the President:
As you know, UTMB is expanding to meet the health care needs of the region with the construction of a new hospital and emergency department in League City. The new facilities are adjacent to our existing Specialty Care Center at Victory Lakes, and the wider range of inpatient and outpatient services they make possible will transform that property into our third campus. League City is growing rapidly, and we are excited to expand convenient access to even more of UTMB’s exceptional health care.
Given these changes, UTMB’s leadership decided it was a good time to re-evaluate the name of the location. Based on results of market research and after much consideration, we have decided to change the name from the Specialty Care Center at Victory Lakes to the UTMB Health League City Campus, effective once the new facilities open.
The change will be implemented through August, as signage at the facility is updated to reflect the new hospital and emergency department. Because signage was changing anyway, there will be no additional cost to updating the name.
What will not change is the high level of service and quality that has characterized the Specialty Care Center since it opened in 2010. I greatly appreciate all of your efforts to help the university earn the trust of everyone we serve.
