Sollenberger meeting with ADC employeesMrs. Donna Sollenberger, EVP & CEO, UTMB Health System visited with more than 50 UTMB Health Angleton Danbury Campus employees on Monday, Feb. 2, 2015 in a come and go chat session.

The employees enjoyed an informal and informative “Take a Break” visit with Ms. Sollenberger who answered a variety of questions from the employees and staff.


Dr. Cai screened 105 seniorsOn Saturday, Feb. 7 the ADC team went out to the annual Senior Fest where near to 1000 senior citizens came to meet local vendors that cater to their needs. The ADC campus, who has participated in this event since its inception more than 20 years ago, introduced the newest cardiologist on the campus, Dr. O. Cai.  Dr. Cai and his team provided more than 100 carotid artery (Doppler scans) to the seniors and visited with them about their results.

Other team members included staff members from the Frank W. Stevens Center for Health and Wellness, Patient Navigation and Public Relations who provided blood pressure checks, grip strength testing and shared educational materials.


On Tuesday, Feb. 10 UTMB Health and the Brazoria County Health Department presented “How to Be a Healthy Diabetic”  – a 90 minute Lunch and Learn at the Brazoria County Fairgrounds led by Kathleen Tiernan, MS, CHES associate professor and director of Health Outcomes for UTMB.  They provided local community members in the Angleton and surrounding areas a snapshot of healthy habit changes that they could use to positively change the course of their illness.

Approximately 20 guests gathered in the auditorium of the Brazoria County Fairgrounds to begin a series of classes focusing on ways to manage a diabetic lifestyle. Thanks are also extended to the Cathy Sprusch, RN, Brazoria County Health Department and her team who coordinated this event with UTMB.
