Greater Texas Gulf Coast Engage Me Series (GTX-GEMS) - Healthcare Economics

The Greater Texas Gulf Coast Engage Me Series (GTX-GEMS) is a monthly event (September-May) held at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) on the Galveston Campus and hosted by the UTMB Office of Interprofessional Education and Practice. The goal of GTX-GEMS is to offer a venue for open discussion on health topics that are pertinent to the well-being of the greater Gulf Coast region. As the region's leading educator of healthcare providers, UTMB is one part of the equation with the capacity to lead the region towards a healthier future by fostering interprofessional community engagement and partnerships that benefit the health of the entire region.

All GTX-GEMS events are free and open to the greater UTMB community and general public.

Joint Accreditation Statement

In support of improving patient care, The Office of Interprofessional Continuing Education, The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. 

AMA Credit Designation Statement

The Office of Interprofessional Continuing Education, The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ANCC Credit Designation Statement

The Office of Interprofessional Continuing Education, The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.50 ANCC nursing contact hours. Attendees should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ASWB Credit Designation Statement

As a Jointly Accredited Organization, The Office of Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE), The University of Texas Medical Branch is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards have the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 1.50 continuing education credits.

Attendance Designation Statement

This activity is designated for 1.50 continuing education hours. A certificate of attendance or IPCE credit can be claimed for individuals not covered by the accredited organizations listed above.
